The sun shone down on the clear lit waters of the Pacific Ocean in the early morning as two military helicopters flew over the calm ocean. One of these carried people, the other carried supplies. Both also had jeeps hanging from powerful metal cables as they flew. The one in the front carried, along with the crew members, five mercenaries. One of them in particular, Galina, was remaining rather quiet as the four others talked about the wonders they were going to see on the island they were approaching. She was young in appearance, and although her exact age was confidential, you could tell she was in her late twenties. She had long blonde hair in a ponytail while wearing a hat that was all too reminiscent of the fictional character Indiana Jones. All of this talk about this mysterious island made Galina think back to how exactly she ended up in this situation.
-----
Galina had just stepped out of the elevator and onto the basement floor of the facility. She wore a navy blue suit and she let her hair go. Stepping out of the elevator with her was a man, obviously more casually dressed than she was, as he wore sunglasses and was simply wearing nothing more than a shirt, dress pants and a tie. He looked at Galina and gave a nod with a grin. She smiled back and nodded in respect, though she somehow had a feeling that he'd be in the meeting that she was going to. Sure enough, the two arrived in the main room, which had three other men standing in place and turned to see the two newcomers. "Ah, welcome soldiers." A gruff looking, aged man, possibly in his late forties, said as he was on a ledge higher up than where the five mercenaries were standing.
"Now, I'm sure you're all wondering why you're here, but before we get to that, introductions are in order. Galina, will you please step forward." And with that, Galina stepped forward and turned around to face the four men who have also been called to the meeting "This is Private Galina, she's a biologist, paleontologist and part-time mercenary, and a fine good one at that." He said, as she bowed in respect.
"It's an honor to meet you gentlemen." She replied before moving back in line.
"Private Samanya, will you step forward, please." And with that, the tall, well-built African-American standing next to Galina moved up. He wore a black suit and had a serious look on his face, obviously a well-trained soldier. "He's one of our top soldiers in the field; he has been through many battles and is an unstoppable force, even by himself." Samanya just grunted as he looked at the four other mercs before going back into his place in line.
"Next we have Private Russell." With that, the man Galina met in the elevator stepped up, rather casually, giving another smile to Galina as she could have sworn he winked to her from behind his shades. "Russell here is an expert animal captor as well as a great soldier."
"The pleasure's all mine." Russell said in a thick, Texan accent, almost as if he was replying to Galina's statement from before.
Once he was in line, the Colonel continued with introducing the team members "This here is private Aiden." He said, and a pot-bellied Irishman with red hair stepped forward, wearing a suit and a shirt that, sadly, didn't fit him. "He is a technician that specialises in weapons and vehicles." He replied to that statement with a nod before moving back into the line.
"And lastly, we have Private Takoda, our tracking expert, both in humans and wildlife." And with that, the last member stepped forward, being a Native American with his hair combed back and wearing a dark blue suit. He was also wearing a Native American necklace around his neck, showing his strong belief in his culture.

"Now that the introductions are out of the way, it's time to move on to more important matters." The Colonel said and pressed a button, causing a large, holographic screen to appear before them. Russell whistled as he saw the screen appear before him, very impressed at the technology the military had hidden from the public. On the screen was a map of the Pacific Ocean, with various coordinates and numbers scattered all over the screen. A small circle encircled one island in particular on the map. "Now, our satellites have picked up a remarkable find here in the Pacific, to be specific, an island that wasn't even on our radars until about a month ago." This statement left Galina wide eyed, an island appeared out of no-where?! "Now, once we picked up the signal, we sent a nearby submarine with soldiers on it to investigate. There were structures on the island, but no hostile enemy forces."
"So why are we bein' dragged in here?" Russell said, finding the whole situation very odd, especially since there was a biologist, trapper and tracker on the team. Galina had a similar thought in mind, not quite understanding why she was here.
"I was just getting there." The colonel said testily, causing Russell to shift uneasily. "Now, there were no enemy hostiles in the area, but the team did encounter something… unusual…" And with that, he clicked the button, changing the image of the map on the hologram to a photograph of something that astounded the five mercenaries. The image was of a couple of soldiers huddled around the carcass of an animal on the beach, though it was no ocean animal. It wasn't a mammal, fish or bird. The carcass was of what looked like to be a dinosaur, specifically, an herbivorous quadruped with a long crest sticking out of the back of its head.

Galina was a gasp "Is that… is that…"
"…a dinosaur? Yes." The colonel cut her off. She was going to say 'parasaurolophus', but dinosaur worked just as fine. "And don't even consider the idea that this was a fake, the tissue was tested to be real and didn't match any recorded living species on the planet, of this day and age, anyway." He then clicked the image a few more times, revealing several more images of the same carcass, and even some of bird-like creatures flying over the island, though they were much bigger than birds. "These images are of live animals, and all of the eyewitnesses said they were too large to be birds. Now, this is where you come in. We have no idea where these dinosaurs came from, though the fact that they were on an island with abandoned settlements and that only appeared on radar recently suggests that the island was under the protection of some kind of device that 'cloaked' the island from our radars and satellites. We need you five to go to this island and find out everything about it. Learn about the animals, find out who created them, capture live specimens and don't die." He said while looking at each of the members, making sure his point got across.

"Now, you have your orders, return home and prepare in any way you can, this will be a long and dangerous mission." He said, to which they all replied with a 'Yes sir!' while saluting him. He dismissed them and looked back to the images, wondering about who could have created these creatures.

-----

Galina sighed, still not being able to believe what she was getting herself into. "Hey, Gal'." She heard Russell call and turned around "I bet you're the happiest one of all of us to be goin' to this 'Jurassic Park'." He said with a snicker, since she was a paleontologist.
She smiled sweetly back to him "That may be, but I'm sure the rest of you will be just as happy, if not happier, to be able to shoot them." She replied before looking back outside the copter, not really approving the killing of animals unless it was for self defense, so she'd keep an eye on the whole group. As she kept looking outside, she could see some dolphins, possibly bottlenose, jumping in and out of the water in the same direction that they were headed. This would be the last time she sees a modern animal before going into a more primeval world.
