Snaiad animals 1

This is the first of three snaiad animals I made.The three animals are all herbivores of the family Ankylodigits(thanks to Michelle56 for the name)that ihnabit Aucaterra.The ankylodigits evolved from the same line as heterostomes,but dew to their seperation,have evolved into their own group.All of them are grouped together by the following traits:fused digits,two toes,large spike sticking out from heel,and a digestive system unique to their group.This unique method is actualy primitive,and is why they survive only on Aucaterra.As the ancestors of them and the heterostomes could not chew with their second heads,the ankylodigits have solved this problem the same way the sauropods of Earths past have,swallowing stons.But unlike the sauropods where the stones are brought to the stomach,the ankylodigits use the second heads(which is fused with the neck and chest)to grind up the plant matter with stones swallowed by the tongue.The tongue is also diferent from heterostomes,it can't chew,grind up,or even rip up plant matter.Instead,its developed a trumpet like opening,that can close tightly when not feeding.This specialized opening is used for swalowing large plants,and equaly large stones to grind up the plants.It can also manipulate the food of which it eats.And one last thing,in all ankylodigits,their tails are used as fat storages,but the tip of the tail does not hold fat,and is whip-like.

This is the first of the herbivores and is part of a family known as boxers,because of their defense mechanism.This one is a curve-billed boxer,and is also the largest boxer on Snaiad.All boxers hav long arms and huge,armored hands,in which they use to "punch" enemies to death.They do this by folding up their arms,and when head-to-head with a headbanger,or any other spinostome,it throws the fists forwards with such force and speed,the fists can easily cracks a predators skull.Also,the first heads of boxers is small,and the beak has developed to attract a mate.In the curved-billed boxer,its beak is curved upward and is useless for feeding.The underparts and sides of the beaks are the most brightly colored.The heel spikes of boxers point upward,put are only useful for defense if the predator attacks from behind.
